How to farm the AH

just an update to my gold farming secrets.  At this  point i think it safe to say lets all share because there's no secrets after 5 years of wow's up time.

I am a business elf and unlike most people who's "main" is a max level character and nicly geared my main is level 1 toon who usually has some 50k gold on hand.  my level 1 toon funds all my alts and shopping needs.  ironic isn't it.

My specialty is: rare recipes, hard to find enchants, enchant mats.   This is mainly because i dont care to farm herbds or ores so do not have any raw mats to sell.   I much rather farm the AH than pick flowers then sell em but to each his own.

AH is the only profession that has  no limit on how much you make and everything else can make 250g per hour.  Questing, dailies, farming,  herbing, oring.  ya i counted.


run auctioneer scan at least 2x a day, scan the AH manually looking for your specialty's items and seeing if its a deal, buy out anything at 50% discount and if its super rare you buy and hold then list on AH at its market vaule for as long as it takes to sell.  You'd be surprise prices people will pay if they realize that there is no other seller its buy it from you or not have it at all.

The De-Evolution of a WOWer

ya think i'd be more motivated to wow since i am on vacation.  but nope.   i just logged in to grab my BB gun for the achievvement and logged right out.  well it doesn't help that my netbook isn't wow capable and the spare desktop crashes whenever wow boots up but its ok .. i actually don't care that much.    i'll wow when i get back to my home computer.  haha the de-evolution of a hardcore wower.   A few years ago I couldn't imagine life without WOW but now its like meh.   I know who my friends are and well if they dont wow thats ok too because I still think highly of them.  


what i did do was catch up on all my sleep dept for 4 months, eat cooked real foods and clean up.  Filled out some job applications wrote 5 plus essays as i had to rewrite a few of em. 
Otherwise yes there's a lot more time once ya do limited wow or schedule it in and stop at the designated time.  on my end I just cease to care that is all

I think WOW is a problem only if you let it become one otherwise its just another leisure activity i can do it or not and its not a big deal. Uhm ya I am a user not an abuser make sense?

Exalted! Cenarion Circle!

Exalted I grinded some rep and lots of gold while getting this rep out of th way.  Yep started at 9pm and decided I was gonna get my rep before I need to take wow diet for me school year.  Notice I said diet as in limited intake and portion control no where did I say I was quitting etc.  Oh and yes this is the case of recreational use an not addiction.. though judging from my play in the last 3 days you'd think otherwise aka addict.most of the rep was from pre-bc so easy for me

Hardcore Wower (LE) Limited Edition

okies with winter break here i am now a hard core wower just for the duration of the break. I'm on morning day and nite. 

my goals are doing the shatari skyguard rep just the bombing dailies as i can't stand to grind mobs, run karazhan, heroic magisters terrace, zul gurub for its mount drops and all other times go grind stratolme.
achievement:  merry maker (completed).   Also i raid up aq40 when time permits, do a random heroic or so and otherwise farm up the auction house on three servers.

Event: Feast of Winterveil + Achievement

 yes! its winterveil party time!  goodies and presents for me erm .. everyone i mean.

completed: merry maker achievement.   I've completed all the quests in piecemeal and at this point i'm tired of repetitive questing on alts so i'm making this my "main" in terms of mounts and achievements.

Lazy Gamer

So i have a small chunk of wow time coming up and guess what?  I have no interest in grinding anything .. it seems i've mellowed out a bunch and logging in once a day to use my xmutes, fast ah, and maybe one instance is good enough for me. Ah well but it really is WOW for next 3 days like there's no tomorrow or skip it and go back to limited wow as I've got projects to do soon.

this might be the case of a lazy bones.   you know lazy in RL and lazy in WOW.

Finally patched and ready to go

after 2 days of downloading, installing, trouble shooting a computer that literally died on me from some corrupt registry.  Luckily computer hiccuped after I turned in all my projects so nothing was lost just a few hours to get patched up for wow and redownload my addons.

What do you think I did after patching up?  explore new content?  raid?  nah nothing so mundane for me I logged in to see a paladin targetting me .. and while i wondered what one was suppose to do with a paladin he killed me.  I guess that was a ret-a-din aka retardin.  Ow who woulda thought that paladins hit so hard.   I forgot to go bear but it wouldn't have made a differnce .. I still dont know what to do with a pally other than wear em down.

I rezzed and resumed my 1 strat run for the nite and logged. hey at least i got my shot at the baron's mount in

Day 2 of patching

So i'm stuck with reinstalling wow from scratch.  what an annoyance.  I think i'll just save all the patch files on a flash drive as well as wow wotlk just in case so next time this happens i'm not stuck downloading then intalling for 2-4 days.  Not that I can do any wow anyways its exam time

Wow 3.30 Error Patch? wtf a full reinstall needed?

Woest me .. i patched the fancy 3.2.2-3.30 12/8/09  logged in to see that it actually worked only to see today 12/10 that I have a downloading window for patch 3.30 erm didn't i just patch it yesterday? and now its saying Error please repair or uninstall and reinstall wow.  Uh this can't be easily done unless one has high speed internet and alot of patience.  My wow is  pached up to date. or was.



Oh might i add I'm suspecting wow nearly killed my system?  computer goes into a free and refuses to boot past the start saying system registry file is corrupt.

 Welcome to patch 3.3.  unfornately I can't log on as my server's down and right now I'm inclined to go to sleep rather than wow.

General

• Icecrown Citadel
  
  • The Forge of Souls, the first wing of the 5-player dungeon, is currently available for testing.
  • Additional Icecrown Citadel dungeon and raid content will be made available in future test builds.
  
  
• Dazed: Creatures attacking a player from behind can no longer cause players level 1-5 to be dazed, and have a reduced chance to cause players level 6-10 to be dazed.
• Copied Test Realm characters will no longer be copied with their achievement history in order to better facilitate the character copy process.

Classes: General

• Default Equipment: Starting weapons are now more uniform. Rogues now start with a pair of daggers equipped. All other classes except shamans start with a 2-handed weapon equipped and the required skill already known. Shamans start with a 1-handed weapon and a shield, as they benefit more from the shield than they would from a 2-handed weapon.
• Glancing Blows: The mage, warlock, and priest classes no longer have an increased chance for their melee attacks to be glancing blows; and the damage penalty due to their glancing blows is the same as for other classes.
• Health and Mana Regeneration: These regeneration rates have been increased by up to 200% for low level characters. As a player's level increases, the regeneration rates gradually reduce, returning to normal rates at level 15.
• Spell Mana Costs: These costs have been reduced for almost all lower level spell ranks. In general, if a spell decreased in cost with a higher level rank in patch 3.2.0, that spell now has the decreased cost at all ranks. In addition, spells learned before level 20 with reduced cast times and/or durations have even further reduced mana costs, proportionate to their reduction in cast time or damage.

Races: General

• Racial Attribute Bonuses: These bonuses have been recalibrated to even out the amount of starting health on the various races. All races start with a standardized level of stamina, except for orcs, dwarves, and tauren who now start with 1 extra point of stamina. For each class, bonuses and penalties to all attributes have been adjusted so that each race has an equal attribute total.

Existing characters will automatically learn this new spell in place of the totem. With a Fire Totem active, shamans will be able to use Fire Nova (fire magic) to emit the same area-of-effect damage as the old Fire Nova Totem from the active Fire Totem, not consuming the totem in the process. Fire Nova will activate a 1.5-second global cooldown when used and has a 10-second spell cooldown. The caster must be within 30 yards of the totem to use this ability, but does not need to be within line of sight of the totem.

Farming Stratolme for: Baron's Mount

Time:15-18 min per run. 
Loots:  5-8 stacks of runecloth, 8 large brilliant shards, 6-10 illusion dust, 5 greater eternal essence.
Route:  Go straight kill baroness somebody first, then go kill spider boss, then go through gate and kill your magician boss,  proceed to magisters dude, then pull all of stich monsters and swipe em to death.  kill skellies and De loots while waiting for the black guard to spawn, kill those too  then go in to kill baron all while swipping when skeletons go to him.  Rinse and repeat

I've heard that a full clear can be done in 10 mins if i do not stop to loot or pull uncessary mobs.

So far I have had no luck with the drop rate but will keep trying.  I dont have anything else to do in game as I have neither the time or inclination to raid or instance or pvp.  A fast and short instance run is just what I'm looking for. Stratolme grinding isn't hard but it is very disapointing.

Profits:  mail cloths to my tailor alt to make stuff for DE and then use mats to enchant very rare recipes for sale on the AH.
